Sara Tomanio

Sara Tomanio was an Associate at several well-known defense firms, including Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz Edelman and Dicker before arriving at Brody Oconnor. Her practice areas included Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice. She also briefly practiced as counsel for Plaintiffs in Medical Malpractice litigation at a boutique firm.

Prior to practicing law Sara enjoyed a sixteen-year career as a Registered Nurse in New York and Connecticut. She practiced in a wide range of practice areas including the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Room. Although no longer in the hospital setting, she maintains all the required continuing education units and attends the American Association of Critical Care Nurses National Teaching Exposition each year. This dual career makes Sara uniquely qualified to evaluate, summarize and comment on complex medical records and damages.

Sara received a Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing (Cum laude) from Western Connecticut State University and a Bachelor’s in Science (Magna Cum Laude) in Criminology from Post University. She received a J.D. and LL M in Intellectual Property (Magna Cum Laude), both from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

Sara is admitted to practice law in New York State; U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York; and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York
